Need a mediation?

Illustration of a team working together

Our mediation process, often referred to as a ‘facilitated discussion’, provides a structured pathway for resolving or preventing the escalation of interpersonal conflict within your workplace. Timing is always critical. We help you to nip rising tensions in the bud before they impact your team’s morale and productivity.

When is mediation appropriate?

our MEDIATION PROCESS

We create a safe environment for your employees to discuss their concerns and identify options to resolve the conflict.

What can you expect?

Each employee will be given an opportunity to speak and be heard, with the assistance of us as a neutral third party, i.e. the mediator.

1. Pre-Mediation

Our Teamwirks Mediator will contact each employee to:

  • Provide an Agreement to Mediate (outlining confidentiality and professional expectations)
  • Explain the mediation process
  • Obtain an understanding of each party’s concerns and objectives
  • Discuss arrangements for the mediation (including any special arrangements)
  • Answer any questions the parties may have.

2. Mediation Discussion

Each employee will be asked to outline their concerns and what they would like to achieve from the mediation.

Our Teamwirks Mediator will:

  • Summarise these concerns and assist the parties to identify the issues for discussion
  • Help the parties to develop strategies and options to address their concerns
  • Act as a “scribe” in forming and documenting any agreements made between the parties
  • Meet with the parties in private, as needed.

Our Teamwirks Mediator will also remain neutral, impartial and will not:

  • Give legal advice
  • Impose an outcome or make a decision for any party
  • Decide who is “right” or “wrong”.

Please note: It may be necessary to conduct the mediation over more than one session.

3. Post Mediation

If the employees reach an agreement, a written copy of these commitments will be sent to each party. Our Teamwirks Mediator will check in with the parties to determine the progress being made against the agreed outcomes and identify any further support the parties may require.
